Where is this command run? As in, does it get run in the busybox shell? Is it run on some other server? I'm wondering what commands are available in the $PATH or how I can figure out which commands are at my disposal in this context. Can I use curl? Or wget? Or is there an email client that would allow me to send emails? Do I need to provide my own SMTP transport? I would prefer not to install docker on my production machine, so I could boot a second instance, build, and then copy the binaries to the production instance. Of course, if this is the case, it does beg the question, why not publish a binary distribution, but that's a topic for another issue!https://open.greenhost.net/greenhost/cryptops/-/issues/16Suggestion: Make install instructions more explicity2022-09-07T12:26:09ZCallum MacdonaldSuggestion: Make install instructions more explicityI was given the cryptops.com link by Greenhost tech support. So I went to the "Usage" page. It tells me how to use the commands. At first, I assumed cryptops was auto installed on all Greenhost VPSs. Wrong. Then I assumed it was a package I could install. Wrong. Finally I emailed support again and was pointed at the repo. Then I came to realise that there is no binary release of the project and that I'm required to build it myself.
My suggestion is to make this more clear in the docs. For example, to add an Install page to the cryptops.com documentation which includes the building instructions. I'd be happy to submit a PR for this if there's support for the idea, and the docs are in a publicly accessible repo.https://open.greenhost.net/greenhost/cryptops/-/issues/6Different password input methods are not completely the same2022-08-05T10:02:38ZArie PetersonDifferent password input methods are not completely the sameI encrypted an instance with the `encryption init` command (without specifying a password on the command line directly). I suggest we only allow encryption selfdestruct on actually encrypted instances. When I have an instance that is not encrypted and I call encryption selfdestruct, I might think that my data will be deleted, but in fact it will not.
