variables.sh uses too long branch names sometimes.

For example, the image used for branch 61-squelch-cannot-set-fs-attributes-on-a-non-existent-symlink-target-message was 61-squelch-cannot-set-fs-attributes-on-a-non-existent-symlink-t and needed to be cut. Otherwise it tries to download a non-existent docker image.
